hello again...
recently i've been feeling what can only be discribed as 'zen'...

i'm losing my place again in my life,
sometimes i just feel like i'm drifting almost,
from class to class
meeting to meeting
meal to meal
and then back to bed.

i don't know why this is happening, cause frankly i don't know what 'this' is...

i feel like i'm following the footsteps of someonelse on a well worn path,
that i'm retracing almost i think, re-living?
i just know that this isn't me, and i don't know what to do.

i think i might just have to take a break from this.
start one of those word docs on my com instead.
cause i feel like a baby whining like this, but i can't help it.

i know i haven't blogger in a long time, but this week has been crazy and some...

i have finally gotten a minute to myself, yes.

anyway i have a thought that i just had to write down...
i think i should definately delete this the mintue i write this but then again, maybe i won't...

i just realised how much of romantic i really am,
don;t get me wrong, seeing couples making out and being overly touchy feeling makes me nauseous,
my i want to be swept off my feet,
i want the big gesture,
i want the romeo and juliet conflict (not the ending though)
i want to be like the little mermaid and the prince seperated by their worlds but fall in love regardless,
i want my prince charming...

and perhaps it's these high expectations,
and extreme circumstances that is needed to catch my attention...
i blame disney.

i don't think i have commitment phobia
that was the theory for the longest time...

the thing is, i think i don't want to fall in love,
i want the love that hits you,
full on. you wake up one day and you realise what you wanted was in front of you all the long.

i've thought i was in love 3 times.
all 3 times, i stood right at the edge (corny i know), but that's what it felt like
and i never jumped off the cliff.
i don't know why.
i guess the potential gain never outweighed the risk.
maybe i do have a phobia of commitment.

now i'm babbling.
i don't know what i'm talking about now.
i forgot what my point was.
i had one i swear, i just don't know what it is anymore.

i'm in japan right now, a 4 hour lay over, fun.

anyway i just realised that today is teacher's day, so...
happy teacher's day to all my teachers, especially a few who are very special to my heart...

you are one of the most patient teachers i know. i'm sorry i always make you tu xue, but thank you for sticking it out. with you, i did the impossible i got a B4 for chinese (:

without fail every year my mum would get a call from one of you, but thank you for not giving up on me, although i slowly gave up on chinese. sorry for not doing writing homework, cheating on ting xie and mo xie. missing class by hiding in the sick bay. but thank you for everything.

you are probably the reason i didn't fail miserably at chinese. you pushed me all the way from pri 4. you believed that i could do it. you teased me about my american accented chinese words but gave me the earring stickers when i did good. i don't know where you are now, but i'm greatly in your debt for all the years of dedication and relentless determination you gave me to help me achieve my fullest potential. one of the happiest moments i have ever had is being able to tell you that i had gotten a B4 for my o'levels, knowing that all our hard work had paid off. you are my favourite teacher ever, tutor or otherwise, and i miss you.

you were the first teacher that talked to me like and equal not like a student to be talked down to. and i'll always appreciate that. you helped me to see through the high school stereotypes and were the first one to make me see that there was more to life than clicks and popularity.

i miss you so much. i still remember on our sec 4 founder's day you refused to take a picture with us, but you said that WHEN we come back the next year with our As in chemistry you would take the picture with us. but i didn't come back. and this year when i heard you were in the hospital i wanted to send you flowers and come visit you, but i put it off thinking i had more time, that you'ld still be there. but i was wrong, that is something i will always regret. i hope you knew how much you meant to me, how you pushed me to be good at a subject that i was failing in. you helped me get over my fear of a bunsen burner, a great feat. i miss you, all i can do is believe that you knew how much a appreciate what you did for us, and how brave i think you are. i hope you have found the peace you deserve, and i hope there are no noisy people up there who turn on their washing machines at night while everyone is trying to sleep.

i guess this is my depressing post, or more reminescing post maybe. i just miss the simplicity of having one set. one set of teachers, one set of friends, one life.

we bought a new fridge!! it has a tv on the door, it's totally useless but i love it.

then we went to go watch fireworks at night at raffles. it was so pretty, i love fireworks.

in either black/dark green/red with the dark interior, an ipod dock and a gps system (: (so i won't get lost)

thens while my mum was getting her hair colored i went shopping...but was eventually tired of walking and went for a foot massage or rather foot reflexology. it was so incredibly good, just from rubbing my feet he could tell that...

1. i need to drink more water (duh)
2. my tummy has a lot of gas cause i eat too fast (heehee)
3. i watch tv/stare at the computer too much thus i have a stiff neck
4. i do too much walking/stand too much (from china)

well i thought it was cool. if i wasn't leaving in 17 days i would have signed up for the package. next time...next time.

well, today i read this in 'today' and thought it was hillarious.

Apparently the pussycats dolls' recent concert in Malaysia was a little too hottt for the authorities. Thus, they have come up with "guidelines for for foreign artistes" that "local sponsers will have to sign...accepting the guidelines before the foreign artistes are allowed in". These are the guidelines...

1. No jumping(!), shouting(!!) or throwing of objects on stage or at the audience.

2. No hugging (?) or kissing the audience, or fellow artistes.

3. No unnescessary baring of skin, which a female artiste needs to cover from the top of her chest to her knees. (?!!!)

4. Clothes should not have obscene or drug-related images or messages. (Finally! I good rule.)

All i can say is that...i guess more bands are going to come to singapore instead! (:

i have lost the magical feeling i got everytime i thought of disney...

there is no more magic and fantasy...
i'm not sucked in the way i use to be when i watched
snow white, cinderella, beauty and the beast, the little mermaid and sleeping beauty
i no longer want to get transported into that magical world...
i don't imagine myself living among the chracters in the story
and wishing i was snow white or cinderella...

i'm not just saying this because i wantto be a princess...
there are other non-princess movies of disney i love...
like dumbo, bambi, 101 dlamatians, the lion king...
and peter pan, alice in wonderland...
no...

lost are those...
they are tyring to be 'mature'
and produce more cultured and informative movies like
atlantis, atlantis 2, treasure planet, home on the range, tarzan...
save for lilo and stictch andn mulan the rest just suck
that's all i have to say...

disney has given up on thinking up original ideas...
and instead have bought into making 2nd rate (if its even 2nd rate) sequals...

i miss that the characters don't sing the songs anymore...
i miss that there's no more love stories...
i miss the happily ever afters...

i'm watching brother bear right now...
and seriously the most enjoyable part in it is when the baby bear, koda is singing...
i don't need any fancy phil collins (no offence, he's a terrific singer/songwriter) to sing it during the movie...
i remember watching the lion king and how i loved it when simba and nala sang 'can you feel the love tonight'
after that i never could listen to the version that elton john sang without audioly gagging...

me, kaci, ryan, eric and chris all squeezed into chris's car and made our way to half moon bay!

the water was super super cold

i swear my legs went numb
but it was totally worth it
i've swam in the pacific!
how sweet is that!
the waves were huge and chris scared me by telling me that there were jellyfish
but i went pretty far in
at least to me it was pretty far in...

we buried eric and ryan in the sand
the girls laid out
we played volleyball
the boys played a game of football
and we had a water fight

someone sent me this...and i felt it really explained *no that's not the right word*

The university professor challenged his students with this question:

"Did God create everything that exists? "

A student bravely replied, "Yes, he did!"

"God created everything?" the professor asked.

The professor answered, "If God created everything, then God created evil since evil exists, and according to the principle that our works define who we are, then God is evil."

The professor was quite pleased with himself and boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.

Another student raised his hand and said, "Can I ask you a question professor?"

"Of course," replied the professor.

The student stood up and asked, "Professor, does cold exist?"

The professor replied "Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?"

The students snickered at the young man's question.

The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Everybody or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body, or matter, have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (- 460 degrees F) is the total absence of heat. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have no heat."

The student continued. "Professor, does darkness exist?"

The professor responded, "Of course it does."

The student replied, "Once again you are wrong sir. Darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light, we can study, but not darkness. In fact we can use Newton's prism to break white light into many colors and study the
various wavelengths of each color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? Finally the young man asked the professor. "Sir, does evil exist?"

i watched lord of the rings 3 the other night with eric and jen...
and this quote just really sruck at me..

"how do you pick up the threads of an old life? how do you go on...when in your heart...you begin to understand...there's no going back? there are some things that time cannot mend. some hurts that go too deep...that have taken hold"

i think if you can go back, it means you never left in the first place, your body might have but your heart is still at the point it started. you then miss out on experiences and opportunities that might ahve made you happier, more fulfilled. but then again, we would all rather remain in our little boxes because no matter how miserable and frighten you are there, whatever is outside the box might just be worse. the real break down is when you realise that you can't go back to the way things were, at least not exactly. because now there's a new reality that we all have to deal with.

there are so many memories that run through my mind...
and i wish we could all just sit down and rewind through all the heartaches
but there are just some people in my life that i don't think i'll ever have a conversation with again
and that's sad cause when i look through my picture of me with my old friends
i remember happiness, carefree feelings when we didn't worry about deadlines and projects

when grades was just a 6 letter word we dealed with at the end of the school year
when we could afford to miss classes and stay at home and play
when lectures were fun because it meant that we could sleep
when we loved wednesdays after recess (i think) and monday mornings cause we would have chapel
when we ran from our classrooms so that we could be the first in line for nasi lemak
when we would countdown the seconds to the end of the school day
when during assembly we would see how much we could slouch before being called on my the teacher

i miss the unairconditioned classrooms
the computer labs where the computers didn't work
the canteen
the hard chairs in the chapel
my leaking ceiling in palmerston
the ackward green couch
the crappy food

i miss the friends i neglected
